About
I have just completed my master's degree at UC Berkeley's School of Information. My primary area of interest within the program was human-computer interaction with a particular focus on usability research.
I came to the iSchool from the Navy, where I worked as an intelligence analyst and Russian translator for 4 years. If you've ever spent any amount of time working with government information systems, you probably undertand my passion for good, usable design. By far, the coolest part of that whole period was getting to attend DLI, a language school in Monterey.
My other passion is sailing, and I am already planning for the day when I will circumnavigate the world in my own little boat (a Tanton 43, in case you were wondering - it's an amazing design, a cat ketch).
I am currently in the throes of my annual get-out-of-town madness, and am trying desperately to restrain myself from taking off on this trip next week, or committing some other, but similarly foolish, act.
